Sliney Super Helpers are supporting

The Ronald Mc Donald House of Connecticut this holiday.

The Ronald McDonald House is a "home away from home" housing children and their families who are being treated at nearby hospitals. During the holidays, these families are away from their homes trying to care for their sick children; the House is not only able to provide them a place to stay, but the support they need at such a difficult time.

Help us collect soda can tabs...

for their recycling fundraiser throughout the months of December and January.

Sliney Super Helpers will carry collection bags and there will be a collection bag in the main office. Pop the tabs off the cans and send them in!

All recycling proceeds go directly to the House.

Help us collect activity books and crayons Friday, December 16th before school in the main lobby.

We will be collecting the following items:

Coloring books
Puzzle books
Word search books
Sudoku books
Crayons
Markers

These items will be used by children staying at the House and as gifts to the other children. Thank you for helping to brighten the holiday for these families going through such trying times!

We also want to thank you for contributing to our causes throughout the fall.

With your help, we were so happy to be able to do accomplish the following:

Donated 130 coats to local children

Donated $240 to Unicef

Collected 75 lbs of food for the Food Pantry before Thanksgiving

Sent 50 cards to soldiers serving overseas

Is your chlild looking for another way to express his or her artistic talent?  A special note to check our PTA website http://www.jbslineypta.org for the Reflections Contest where this year's theme is Diversity Means... All entries are due by December 2nd.

We are excited to report that we collected a large amount of candy to send over to troops overseas.  Sliney Helpers has arranged to send our candy over with letters the students have written for the soldiers.  Thank you to all that helped make this possible.
